Kuwait,Dec. 12 (SANA)The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) held Friday the 175th Executive Bureau meeting in Kuwait, with the participation of the Syrian Arab Republic, marking Syria’s return to the organization’s meetings for the first time since liberation and reaffirming its normal role in joint Arab action.
Syria was represented at the meeting by the Assistant Minister of Energy for Oil Affairs, Ghiath Diab. Members of the Executive Bureau discussed several agenda items related to strengthening the organization’s institutional work, enhancing cooperation among member states in petroleum industry sectors and joint programs, and following up on the implementation of approved plans and projects.
Syria’s participation in the Executive Bureau meetings reaffirms its active presence in specialized Arab organizations and its commitment to cooperating with Arab countries in developing the oil and gas sector, exchanging expertise, and strengthening integration in this vital industry.
