The Turkish National Security Council affirmed that Ankara will continue to provide support to achieve security and stability for the Syrian people.
According to Anadolu Agency, the council expressed in a statement Wednesday, following a meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, its satisfaction with the progress Syria has made in overcoming the challenges it faces, attaining the international standing it deserves, and contributing to regional stability.
“We will continue to provide support to achieve peace, stability, prosperity, and security for all segments of the Syrian people,” the council stated.
The statement also noted that the council discussed multi-dimensional efforts to eliminate terrorism and strengthen national unity, stressing that there is no place for any form of terrorism or violence in the future of the region.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish National Security Council is the highest security coordination body in Turkey. It convenes every two months under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic to discuss internal and external security developments.
