Tunis – SANA
Syria participated in the extraordinary session of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), held yesterday in Tunisian capital alongside representatives from other Arab countries.
Syrian Minister of Education Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turko described the participation as a significant step toward restoring Syria’s active role in the Arab world. He emphasized that cultural and educational cooperation is key to strengthening Arab identity and reaffirming the region’s civilizational standing.
Syria’s involvement reflects its broader efforts to reestablish its presence within Arab institutions and support joint initiatives in education and culture.
Founded in 1970, ALECSO aims to foster Arab cooperation in education, culture, and science, and to coordinate efforts among member states to advance educational and cultural development across the region.
