Syria Participates in the 20th Conference of Civil Defense in Baghdad

Baghdad, SANA- The 20th Conference of Heads of Civil Defense Agencies (Civil Defense) kicked off Wednesday in Baghdad, with the participation of Syria, represented by the head of the Syrian Civil Defense Organization, Mounir Mustafa.

The conference will discuss emergency management, the dangers of environmental pollution, and ways to enhance Arab coordination in responding to disasters and major incidents, in addition to exchanging expertise and experiences among participating countries.

The conference will also study a proposal to establish an Arab Center for Coordination of Field Cooperation in Emergency Situations, and the creation of an electronic platform for exchanging information between civil defense agencies in Arab countries.

The conference is attended by heads of civil defense agencies and representatives of the ministries of interior in Arab countries, in addition to delegations from the League of Arab States, the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization, the Arab Center for the Prevention of Earthquake and Other Natural Disasters.
