France calls for sustainable agreement that establishes security in Syria

Paris, SANA-France affirmed its support for the efforts undertaken by the Syrian government and relevant stakeholders in the Sweida region to resume dialogue, expressing its hope for a sustainable agreement to strengthen unity, establish security, extend sovereignty in Syria, and preserve the security of all Syrians.

The French Foreign Ministry expressed hope that these efforts would lead to a lasting agreement that strengthens unity, restores security, reinforces Syrian sovereignty, and safeguards the safety of all Syrians.

In a statement published on its official website, the ministry also voiced concern over the current developments in Sweida Governorate, calling on all parties involved to intensify their efforts to ensure civilian safety, restore calm, and promote peace among all components of Syrian society.

France reiterated its commitment to the principles outlined in the joint statement issued on February 13. The ministry noted ongoing communication with various parties and urged all sides to respect the ceasefire and bring an end to violations targeting civilians.
