Turkey: Israeli attacks on Syria harm regional peace efforts

Ankara, SANA- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan warned of the consequences of repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory.

According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Fidan stressed during a phone call with his US counterpart, Marco Rubio, that any attack on Syria’s territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty harms regional peace efforts, emphasizing that Israeli “interventions” in Syrian territory can further exacerbate the problem.

Fidan stressed the need to restore calm to Syria as soon as possible, noting the importance of implementing the agreements reached between the parties in Syria and not missing the opportunity to build a future for the Syrian people.

The Turkish minister expressed his country’s support for the constructive US role in Syria, stressing that Ankara is ready to work with Washington and other countries to permanently end the tension and to prevent terrorist organizations from taking advantage of the situation of southern region
