Turkey Reiterates Support for Syria’s Unity and Territorial Integrity

14 August، 2025

Ankara, SANA – Turkish Ministry of Defense reiterated Thursday its support for Syria’s unity and territorial integrity, highlighting the importance of the Syrian government’s calls for “one state, one army.”
Sources from the Turkish Ministry of Defense told Anadolu Agency that Ankara “supports Syria’s political unity and territorial integrity” and has formalized that commitment by signing a joint memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Ministry of Defense for training and advisory cooperation.
“The Syrian government’s calls for “one state, one army” are essential and necessary for the long-awaited climate of peace and stability in the region”, the sources added.
The military cooperation agreement was signed Wednesday by the Syrian and Turkish defense ministries. It aims to boost the Syrian Arab Army’s capabilities, restructure its institutions, and support comprehensive reforms within the security sector.
