Damascus, SANA-Syrian basketball star Michel Madanli has announced his return to Syria after a long absence and a distinguished professional experience in the Netherlands.

On his personal Facebook page, he confirmed that his first project is to set up a training camp in Syria in Al-Jalaa Sports City, and the camp includes age groups ranging from 8 years to 23 years.

Madanli is one of the most prominent basketball players in Syria. In 2011, he moved to the Chinese league to play with Foshan FC. He also played in the Philippine League, before moving to the Dutch league in 2016 to play for Landslake Lions, with whom he won the league championship in the 2016/2017 season. In 2022, he began his coaching career in the Dutch youth league.
