Rabat, SANA- The Moroccan national football team was crowned champions of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating their Malian counterparts in a penalty shootout, 4-2, in the final match held Saturday.
Despite numerous scoring opportunities for both sides, neither team managed to find the back of the net, resulting in a goalless draw at the end of regular time. The match proceeded to penalties, where the Moroccan team prevailed.
This victory marks the first time in history that Morocco has claimed this prestigious title.
