Zurich, Oct. 8 (SANA) Portugal climbed to fifth place in the latest FIFA world rankings released Wednesday, becoming the only team to move up among the top 10.
According to FIFA’s website, Portugal rose two places to fifth after earning maximum points in the UEFA Nations League during the latest international break, recording four consecutive wins over Norway home and away, as well as Wales and Denmark.
Portugal’s rise came at the expense of Brazil and Morocco, who each dropped one place after being held to draws in two friendly matches.
Spain retained the top spot after a strong start to the UEFA Nations League, capped by four consecutive victories, including a 3-2 win over England, as well as two wins over Croatia and another against the Czech Republic.
Argentina remained second after beating Benin 3-0, while France ranked third and England fourth. Belgium, the Netherlands and Mexico also remained among the top 10.
