Damascus, SANA- The Syrian national under-17 handball team is set to participate in the inaugural Asian U-17 Championship, scheduled to begin next Monday in Amman, Jordan, with teams from across the continent taking part.
Following Uzbekistan’s withdrawal, the Asian Handball Federation revised Group D, placing Syria alongside South Korea, Iran, and the Maldives.
Other groups include:
Group A: Kuwait, Bahrain, Hong Kong
Group B: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China
Group C: Jordan, Chinese Taipei, India
This marks Syria’s first appearance in the tournament, and the team aims to deliver a strong performance that will strengthen its continental presence and contribute to the development of youth handball in the country.
