Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discuss regional during a phone call.

Cairo, July 20 (SANA) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions during a phone call on Monday, reaffirming support for diplomatic solutions and coordination among Arab states.

According to Egypt‘s Foreign Ministry, the two ministers reviewed regional and international efforts to contain escalating U.S.-Iran tensions and stressed the need for an immediate halt to military actions that could widen the conflict. They also emphasized the importance of political and diplomatic solutions to restore regional security and stability.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting Jordan and expressed Cairo’s support for measures taken by the kingdom to safeguard its security, stability and sovereignty. He also reiterated Egypt’s rejection of attacks on the sovereignty of Arab states.

On Gaza, the ministers called for the full implementation of the first phase of the U.S. president’s plan, the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian, relief and medical assistance to the Gaza Strip, and agreement on arrangements for a second phase, including an Israeli withdrawal from the enclave.

They also condemned continuing Israeli violations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Jordan’s military said on Sunday it intercepted three of four Iranian missiles launched toward the kingdom, while the fourth landed in an uninhabited area in southern Jordan without causing casualties or damage.
