Baghdad, Dec . 01 (SANA) Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani discussed with Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack on Sunday practical mechanisms for Iraq to continue supporting Syria’s stability, security, and economic recovery
According to a written statement issued by Iraqi Prime Minister’s Media Office, the two officials reviewed ways to reinforce Syria’s stability, security, and prosperity, in a manner that also strengthens Iraq’s stability and development.
The two officials also exchanged views on preventing further escalation in the region, placing it on a path of cooperation, long-term stability, and economic growth. They expressed support for diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving regional disputes.
Barrack stressed “the constructive and essential role Iraq can play in achieving these shared objectives,” according to the statement.
Al-Sudani has repeatedly affirmed Iraq’s commitment to supporting Syria’s stability, unity, and sovereignty.
