Minister of Information, Hamza Al-Mustafa discussed with Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union Delegation to Syria, Michael Ohnmacht, means of enhancing media communication between Syria and EU countries.
According to the Ministry of Information’s Telegram channel, Minister Mustafa reviewed the ministry’s recent achievements and efforts to combat misleading content and hate speech spread on social media.
Minister Al-Mustafa also pointed to the facilities provided by the Syrian government to Arab and international media outlets visiting Syria, enabling them to freely and professionally conduct their journalistic mission within the country.
This meeting comes as part of the diplomatic and media consultations between Damascus and the European Union, which aim to boost mutual understanding and encouraging balanced media coverage of the situation in Syria, especially as global media enters an era of digital transformation and is witnessing the spread of fake news.
