Syrian-Saudi cooperation to support the building of smart digital institutions

Riyadh, SANA- Minister of Communications and Technology, Abdul Salam Haykal, affirmed that advancing government digital transformation is a top priority for Syria, highlighting the importance of exchanging expertise with Saudi Arabia to accelerate the establishment of smart institutions that deliver transparent and efficient services to citizens.

Haykal made the remarks during a visit by the Syrian delegation to the Saudi Digital Government Authority and Innovation Center in Riyadh, where both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of e-government and digital transformation.

According to the Ministry of Communications, the Syrian delegation reviewed Saudi Arabia’s key projects in unified government services, data governance, user experience enhancement, and improved access to digital platforms.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to transfer expertise to support Syria’s efforts in developing its national digital model, adopting modern methodologies for digital service design, and promoting active participation from both the public and private sectors in this process.
