Berlin, May 13 (SANA) German authorities said an unexploded World War Two bomb was discovered near former U.S. barracks in the city of Wiesbaden in central Germany.
According to Der Spiegel, Wiesbaden authorities said the bomb weighs around 500 kilograms and that a 700-metre exclusion zone would be established, with evacuation orders issued for nearby residents.
Transport disruptions are expected in the area, including on the railway line between Wiesbaden and Cologne and on the A66 motorway between Erbenheim and Nordenstadt. Bus services are also expected to be affected.
Unexploded ordnance from World War Two is still frequently discovered in Germany, particularly during construction and excavation work in major cities and industrial areas.
