Washington, March 9 (SANA) Spinach may help lower blood pressure and support cardiovascular health thanks to its rich nutritional content, according to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The institute noted that spinach contains dietary nitrates that the body converts into nitric oxide, a compound that helps widen blood vessels and improve blood flow, contributing to lower blood pressure.
Spinach also provides potassium and antioxidants, including vitamin C, beta-carotene and lutein, which help reduce oxidative stress and support heart health.
