Sweida, SANA- The spiritual leadership of the Druze Unitarian Muslims welcomed the entry of Interior and Defense Ministry forces into Sweida province, calling on armed factions to cooperate with it and surrender their weapons, open a dialogue with the government, and activate state institutions.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Leadership said: “Following the recent tragic events in Sweida province, which resulted in a significant number of casualties, and out of our desire to stop the bloodshed and the urgent need to restore security and stability, we firmly believe that achieving this goal requires the state to assert its authority through official institutions, particularly the security and military establishments.
We welcome the entry of Interior and Defense Ministry forces to establish control over security and military centers and secure the province.
We call on all armed factions in Sweida province to cooperate with the forces of the Interior Ministry, not to resist their entry and to surrender their weapons.
We also call for the opening of dialogue with the Syrian government to address the aftermath of recent events and to revitalize state institutions in coordination with local expertise and capabilities from across various sectors.”
