Latakia, SANA-The Syrian Civil Defense has confirmed that the area affected by wildfires has expanded to the vicinity of al-Ghassaniya village in Ras al-Basit district of Lattakia countryside and are approaching residential homes due to increasing wind speeds.
In a press statement, Director of Civil Defense in the Syrian coast, Abdul Kafi Kayyal, stated that firefighting teams are working to halt the fire’s advance and evacuate residents from the village to safer sites. He emphasized that the flames are now dangerously close to populated areas in al-Ghassaniya, and teams are making every effort to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.
