Damascus, SANA – Head of the United Farm Workers (UFW), Ghazwan al-Wazir, called on agricultural organizations on the Syrian coast to provide all possible support to combat the forest fires.
In a statement to SANA, al-Wazir called on all agricultural associations and unions in the region to mobilize all available and potential resources and put them at the service of firefighting operations.
He also affirmed the need for full mobilization and immediate intervention, including an active presence alongside firefighting teams, supporting extinguishing and cooling efforts, and providing all possible forms of logistical and human support.
He went on to indicate that the union, with all its personnel, is committed to supporting affected farmers and working to gradually compensate for plant loss through agricultural associations.
