Syria and UNDP explore Strategic Media Partnerships and Capacity Building

Damascus, SANA -Information Minister Dr. Hamza al-Mustafa discussed with the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Syria, Dr. Mohammed Siddiq Mudawi, ways to enhance cooperation between the ministry and the UNDP.

According to a statement shared by the Ministry of Information via its Telegram channel, the talks centered on strengthening media capacity for crisis response, supporting community awareness initiatives, and developing purposeful media content aligned with sustainable development priorities and the government’s strategy for advancing the media sector.Syria and UNDP explore Strategic Media Partnerships and Capacity Building

During the meeting, Dr. al-Mustafa emphasized the importance of international partnerships in supporting national media and developing tools that reflect Syria’s reality and convey citizens’ voices with objectivity and professionalism.

Through meetings with Arab, foreign, and international delegations, the Ministry of Information seeks to support Syrian media and develop the skills of its media professionals to address the challenges imposed on the Syrian media by the policies of the defunct regime, and to establish a genuine national media that contributes to development and represents a new Syria.
