Syrian Establishment for Grains confirms receiving more than 290,000 tons of wheat

Damascus, SANA – Syrian Establishment for Grains asserted that the quantities of wheat delivered to the Establishment’s centers across various Syrian provinces have exceeded 291,000 tons of wheat from the 2024 season crop since the start of deliveries in early June.

The Director General of the Corporation, Engineer Hassan Muhammad Al-Othman, said that the Corporation’s management is field monitoring the wheat crop marketing process to ensure the successful delivery of the crop and to overcome any potential marketing challenges, noting that the total amount of wheat received so far has reached 291,500 tons of both hard and soft wheat.

On June 11, President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued a decree granting every farmer who delivers his wheat to the Syrian Grain Corporation an incentive bonus of $130 for every ton of wheat delivered, in addition to the approved purchase price issued by the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
