Damascus University Included in Iraqi Academic Accreditation Guides for 2025

Damascus, SANA-Damascus University has been included in the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s 2025 Guides.

Director of the Classification Office at Damascus University, Dr. Marwan al-Raee, said on Sayurday that the most important of these requirements is Damascus University’s inclusion in a number of international educational and research rankings, the presence of international research by Damascus University researchers, both students and professors, the presence of a number of international and Iraqi students studying at Damascus University, and other criteria.

Dr. al-Raee, pointed out that Damascus University met these requirements through correspondence between the University’s Classification and Accreditation Office and the Iraqi Embassy and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq over the past months.

He explained that the importance of Damascus University’s inclusion in the Iraqi accreditation guidelines lies in its institutional accreditation for all the university’s majors and branches. This makes the University of Damascus University’s graduate certificate accredited by all Iraqi universities.

According to Dr. al-Raee, Damascus University, for example, has returned to the accreditation guidelines in the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Algeria, Kuwait, and Iraq. He noted the importance of inclusion in the Iraqi accreditation guidelines due to the high requirements it requires, as fewer than 2,500 international universities are included.
