The session addressed the pain of the families of those detained and forcibly disappeared in Syria under the former regime, as well as the importance of memory, justice, and holding those responsible for crimes accountable.

It was attended by families of victims who recounted their suffering and demands for justice and compensation.

A representative of the National Commission for Missing Persons stressed the continuation of efforts to uncover the fate of the missing and provide psychological support to their families.

The discussion also touched on the formation of two national commissions for transitional justice and missing persons, with the aim of documenting violations and holding perpetrators accountable.

The victims’ families demanded that the criminals be held accountable and that the families be compensated, and they shared their painful stories.

The National Commission for the Missing is working to uncover the fate of the disappeared and provide psychological and legal support.

Two national commissions have been formed: for transitional justice and for the missing, with the aim of documenting violations and holding those responsible accountable.
