Interior Minister: Combating drugs is part of our case to protect Syria's present and future

Damascus, SANA – Interior Minister Anas Khattab affirmed Thursday that the Ministry continues with firmness and determination to implement intensive campaigns to seize drug smuggling and promotion networks.

Minister Khattab tweeted on X: On World Drug Day, we renew our commitment to combating this scourge that threatens societal security and the safety of our youth and our country, ensuring that the ministry continues with firmness and determination to implement intensive campaigns to control smuggling and promotion networks and strike storage and trafficking dens relentlessly so that Syria is free of these toxins.

He added that combating drugs is part of our issue to protect Syria’s present and future, and we call on the people and civil society to stand with us and support us in this confrontation, as the war against drugs is not only a security matter, but rather a moral, social, and national duty that must not be compromised.
