Deir Ezzor, SANA-The UCC International Energy Group, in coordination with the Deir Ezzor governorate, has identified the sites of the thermal power plants and the 750-megawatt Deir Ezzor power facility in Deir Ezzor, as well as the solar energy plant situated at the al-Taym power station in the province.
This step is in implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed by the Ministry of Energy with international companies to boost investment in the energy sector on May 29.
The delegation was briefed, during his visit to the facility, on the status of the transformer stations there.
An agreement was also reached during the delegation’s visit to rehabilitate the three stations: 400 kV, 230 kV, and 66 kV.
The group’s delegation requested that the facility’s managers and other relevant authorities in the governorate expedite the survey of the identified area and ensure it is free of mines and remnants of war as soon as possible in order to begin work.
Deir Ezzor governor Ghassan Sayed Ahmad directed the technical teams to prepare the designated site from all aspects to facilitate the group’s mission and enable them to expedite the completion of work within the region.
The construction of a 750-megawatt power plant in Deir Ezzor will generate sufficient electricity to meet the needs of the population, contribute to the development process, support the return of displaced families, and encourage investment through the establishment of agricultural, industrial, and tourism projects in the governorate.
