Residents of several villages in Homs surrender weapons to Internal Security Forces

Homs, SANA – As part of an initiative aimed at restricting weapons to state control and enhancing security and stability in the region, residents of several villages in Homs countryside have surrendered a quantity of weapons to the Internal Security Forces.

A security source told SANA’s reporter, “We received information about the presence of weapons in the villages of al-Dardara, al-Kashf, and al-Adiyat in the southeastern Homs countryside. These weapons belonged to the National Defense and individuals who served during the former regime’s era.”

The source added “Communication was established with the dignitaries of these villages to facilitate the handover of these weapons to the state. The dignitaries, in cooperation with the residents, promptly surrendered the requested weapons to the relevant authorities.”

The source emphasized that security agencies are working diligently to confiscate any unauthorized weapons and secure them.
