Damascus Chamber of Agriculture signs MoU with Global Surveys LLC

Damascus, SANA- The Damascus and Its Countryside Chamber of Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Global Surveys LLC, a specialized inspection company, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two entities. The MoU focuses on improving export quality systems and providing services that will elevate the competitiveness of Syrian products in Arab and international markets.

The MoU, signed Sunday at the Chamber’s headquarters by Chairman Mohammad Janan and Global Surveys LLC Director Kamal Kayal, outlines the provision of export monitoring services, specialized training programs for farmers and agricultural exporters, and the issuance of ISO certifications (global quality certificates).

Additionally, the MoU includes the issuance of “Halal” certificates ensuring product compliance with Islamic guidelines, organic agriculture certifications, quality assessments for imported goods, and other services as required by the Chamber within the company’s scope of expertise.

Following the signing, Chairman Janan emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality and competitiveness of Syrian export products.
He highlighted the need for credibility in certification, noting that the MoU will be valid for one calendar year from the signing date, with automatic renewal.

He further clarified that Syrian law governs the memorandum, and in the event of any disputes regarding interpretation, execution, or enforcement, legal proceedings will be conducted in the city where the contract was implemented, unless arbitration is mutually agreed upon at the time.

Director Kamal Kayal pointed out that the memorandum introduces new elements aligned with international market requirements, certification standards, packaging techniques, and agricultural product quality.

He added that awareness programs for farmers and the development of export quality systems will help prepare exporters for upcoming trade opportunities and ensure that their certifications meet global standards. Additionally, the company will support quality assurance through product analysis and sampling to align with international specifications and compliance measures.
