Tourism Minister: Lifting sanctions on Syria contributes to revival national economy

Damascus, SANA-Tourism Minister Mazen al-Salhani affirmed that lifting sanctions on Syria will effectively contribute to the revival of the national economy, including Syrian tourism sector.

The Minister pointed out in a statement to SANA that implementing the decision to lift sanctions on Syria in general, and on the Ministry of Tourism and tourist facilities in particular, is a step in the right direction that ensures the return of life to Syria and opens up new prospects for tourism investment.

“We call for support for the tourism sector, which has a significant economic impact, and we will provide all necessary facilities to support investors,” Al-Salehani said, adding: We will spare no effort in the interest of reviving Syrian tourism, which will provide significant job opportunities, that in turn will contribute to reducing unemployment.

Based on the directives of the President of the Republic, we are considering amending the investment law to assist investors, the Minister affirmed.
