Syria thanks Qatar and Saudi Arabia for their support in settling its World Bank debt

Damascus, SANA-Syria expressed its gratitude to the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their support in settling its arrears to the World Bank.

A statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on its Telegram channel read: “The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its deep gratitude and appreciation to the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the generous fraternal initiative to announce the settlement of Syria’s financial arrears to the World Bank Group, which amounted to $15 million.”

The statement added: “This step reflects a shared commitment to supporting the Syrian people and alleviating their economic burdens. It also opens the door for activating cooperation with international institutions to serve the path of recovery and reconstruction.

While Syria affirms that joint Arab cooperation is the best way to confront current challenges, it looks forward to strengthening relations with its brothers in Qatar and Saudi Arabia and moving forward towards effective partnerships that serve the interests of the peoples and consolidate stability in the region.”
