Journalists Union appreciates efforts by Interior and Information Ministries to handle assault on journalist in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- The Journalists Union has expressed its appreciation for the Ministries of Interior and Information for their swift response and the efforts exerted in handling the assault incident that targeted journalist Mohammad al-Ibrahim, an employee of the General Authority for Radio and Television, while he was on his way to work in Damascus, and for addressing any violations.

In a clarification published on its Telegram channel, the union emphasized the utmost importance of respecting the freedom of the media, a principle for which Syria’s soil was watered with precious blood.

The Union also noted that upon receiving the report, there was immediate communication with the public relations officials at the Ministry of Information, who responded swiftly and worked alongside the security authorities to identify the security member involved in the incident. The individual was subjected to immediate investigation, and steps were taken to restore the rights of journalist al-Ibrahim.
