Smart traffic intersection’s implementation begins to reduce traffic congestion in Hama

HAMA, SANA- Hama City Council began on Tuesday the implementing of an innovative project to replace the old Ain Al-Lawza roundabout with a smart intersection.

The project aims to reduce congestion by 60 percent and save 40 percent of drivers’ time and comes as part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the traffic network in the Hama city, which has recently witnessed high-density traffic, Representative of Local Administration and Environment in Hama city, Engineer Mahmoud Salqini, told SANA reporterSmart traffic intersection’s implementation begins to reduce traffic congestion in Hama

Salqini added that the city council’s plan includes the implementation of eight additional smart intersections, with the next phase to begin after evaluating the performance of the Ain Al-Lawza intersection and reviewing the potential challenges during the first months of its operation,

He stressed that this project is not just a temporary solution, but rather part of a long-term vision to transform Hama into a smart city.
