Syrian Civil Defense extinguishes 20 fires in Lattakia and Tartous countryside

Lattakia – Tartous, SANA-The Syrian Civil Defense teams extinguished 20 fires that broke out Tuesday in the countryside of Lattakia and Tartous, most of which were forest fires.

The Syrian Civil Defense reported in a post on its Telegram channel that firefighters extinguished a forest fire on the Deir Hanna road in Qardaha countryside in Lattakia Governorate, after working for about 7 hours.

The Syrian Civil Defense indicated that the teams faced great challenges due to the rugged terrain of the area and the wind.

It thanked the residents who helped extinguish the fires.

The Civil Defense stressed that vegetation cover is a national treasure for all Syrians and it is everyone’s duty to preserve it, protect biodiversity and confront climate change.
