The fundraising campaign ‘In Devotion to Hama’ was launched on Saturday evening in the city of Hama, with broad participation from officials and prominent figures. The campaign aims to raise donations to support war-affected areas in the province, improve infrastructure, and facilitate the return of displaced residents.
Defense Minister Major General Murhaf Abu Qasra told participants that for decades, Hama has opposed the former regime. He said the campaign sends a clear message that the province deserves support and care as part of a national project.
He also stressed the government’s commitment to uphold national responsibility for all Syrians, safeguard Syria, its sovereignty, and its people, and preserve their dignity and honor.
Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa said that Hama had successfully repelled invaders and served as a stronghold for both attack and defense against the former regime. He noted that the campaign marks a new chapter in Syria’s history, which continues to honor its cities.
He added that resources are being dedicated to Hama and emphasized that the city’s mothers and young people, who risked their lives in devotion to Hama, are recognized for their sacrifice.
