Internal Security in Aleppo arrests a Saidnaya prison guard

Aleppo – SANA

The Interior ministry announced Wednesday the arrest of Hassan Mar’i Hassan al-Hussein, one of the notorious Saidnaya prison’s security guards.

The Ministry said in a statement on its telegram channel that the Internal Security Command in Aleppo province, in cooperation with the counterterrorism branch, arrested al-Hussein who is a native of Tal Hadya village in southern Aleppo countryside.

The statement identified al-Hussein as one of the guards at Saidnaya prison and is implicated in committing severe violations against civilian detainees.

“He was involved in physically torturing detainees, participating in field executions, and transporting the bodies of some detainees who died under torture to unknown locations,” the statement added.

The ministry said al-Hussein has been referred to the competent judiciary to take all legal measures against him.
