Information Minister: The Development Fund is a national step for reconstruction

Damascus, SANA – Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa affirmed that the launch of the Syrian Development Fund represents a comprehensive national path for reconstruction and reflects an active popular will to shoulder national responsibility, independent of the political conditions imposed by international organizations.

In a speech during the fund’s launch, Minister al-Mustafa said: “The Syrian government has chosen an independent path that allows all citizens to contribute to building their future.” He added: “Syrians today are masters of their national decision.”

Mustafa indicated that addressing the refugee camps is a priority for the next phase, emphasizing that the concept of camps imposed by the former regime must end.

The Minister articulated that the Syrian Development Fund is professionally organized and aims to attract donations from individuals, companies, and countries. He noted that the donation campaign launched on Thursday has received an overwhelming response, with more than $61 million raised despite some technical issues on the website, and the campaign is scheduled to continue for three days, with the possibility of extension, and donations remain open to all.

Mustafa concluded by emphasizing that the post-liberation phase requires strengthening the country’s unity and the cohesion of Syrian society, calling for overcoming differences and working together to build a unified and stable Syria.
