Damascus, SANA – Syria’s Minister of Transport, Ya’rub Badr, met Tuesday with a French delegation led by Jean-Baptiste Faivre, Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Damascus, to discuss preparations for the upcoming visit of 40 French companies to Damascus on October 1.
The talks, attended by representatives of the Future Syria Council, focused on opportunities for international and European partnerships in rehabilitating and developing Syria’s transportation sector, including the railway network, bridges, and public roads.

The French delegation was also briefed on the Damascus Metro project linking the city with its surrounding countryside, as well as plans to expand railway lines along the north–south and east–west axes.
Faivre said that the French business delegation will carry out a one-day exploratory visit aimed at identifying Syria’s investment needs and potential projects in the transport sector.
This meeting aims to enhance Syrian-French cooperation in the field of transportation and attract foreign investments that support the reconstruction of transportation infrastructure in Syria.
