Damascus-SANA- Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh announced that, in response to citizens’ calls, the ministry has formed a joint operations room since the beginning of the unfortunate events and difficult security and humanitarian conditions in Suwayda.

The room includes representatives from ministries and government institutions, the Syrian Civil Defense, local humanitarian organizations, and service providers working around the clock to provide relief and ambulance services to citizens along with facilitating evacuation, he added in a post on X platform.

Since Thursday morning, more than 570 wounded people have been treated, 87 victims killed as a result of the escalation have been transported, and hundreds of families have been evacuated to safer areas, minister al-Saleh stated.

According to al-Saleh, 90 well-trained and equipped volunteers from the Syrian Civil Defense participated in the response, along with a field convoy including 17 ambulances, more than 22 evacuation buses, 10 various transport vehicles.

“Internal coordination rooms also organized transporting families to locations designated by the families themselves or to designated shelters.”
