Land and Seaports General Authority : Comprehensive development of ports in Syria

Damascus, SANA-The General Authority for Land and Seaports affirmed that it has achieved great development since its establishment, as ports and crossing points in Syria witnessed distinguished comprehensive development.

Head of the Authority, Qutaiba Badawi, said that Several government bodies operating in various fields were merged under the authority’s umbrella, in accordance with a Cabinet decision issued on December 31, 2024.

He added that the authority is now responsible for managing vital sea and land ports and outlets in Syria, such as the ports of Latakia, Tartous, and Baniyas, in addition to a number of important directorates, such as the General Directorate of Ports, the Customs Directorates, and the Legal Directorate.

Badawi explained that since the liberation, the port of Lattakia has received about 240 import and export vessels.
The port of Tartous has received approximately 420 vessels, while the port of Baniyas, which is dedicated to transporting petroleum products such as gas and gasoline, has witnessed the entry of approximately 65 oil tankers.
