Damascus University ranks 86th in the Regional UniRanks Classification

7 August، 2025

Damascus, SANA- Damascus University has been included in the regional classification of the American UniRanks ranking system for its 2025 edition. It is the only Syrian university to be accepted into this regional classification, having met all the required criteria.

Director of Classification Office at Damascus University, Dr. Marwan al-Ra’i said in a statement to SANA that Damascus University was listed on this classification for two geographic regions:

-Arab region as the university ranked 86th among Arab Universities, out of more than 1,487 ones.

-Asian region as the university ranked 1,012th.

Dr. al-Ra’i added the regional classification depends on dividing universities and research centers according to their geographical sites and universities may be included in more than one region, such as the case of Damascus University being included in two regions.

This classification is based on more than 100 sub-criteria, covering several aspects of the university.
