Firefighters Control Wildfires in Western Hama Countryside

Hama, SANA-The efforts of the Syrian Civil Defense firefighting teams, fire brigades, and residents, continued on Saturday to extinguish the remaining forest fires in the western Hama countryside.

The Civil Defense said on its Telegram channel that the fires renewed from burning areas on the mountaintops toward the valley in the Arzilat area near Jorin, due to strong winds and changing directions. The teams, supported by residents, worked for more than eight continuous hours to prevent the fire from reaching nearby homes.

The team indicated that the fire trapped a firefighting team and a number of residents participating in the extinguishing operations, resulting in minor burns for one firefighter before the teams were able to control the situation and completely extinguish the fire.

The Civil Defense stated that monitoring is ongoing in the area around the clock, enabling immediate intervention in the event of any new fire outbreaks. This is to ensure the safety of residents and protect forests from further damage.
