Occupied Jerusalem, June 8 (SANA) Two Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Monday in Israeli strikes targeting areas of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian media reported.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA said an Israeli airstrike hit a group of civilians in the al-Attar area of al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, killing two people and injuring others.
In a separate incident, three Palestinians were wounded when an Israeli drone struck a vehicle near Asdaa City, northwest of Khan Younis, according to the agency. Another strike targeted a gathering near Salah al-Din Road in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s Health Ministry said the death toll from Israel’s military campaign in the enclave had risen to 72,980, with 173,171 people injured since Oct. 7, 2023.
The ministry said hospitals received eight bodies and 43 wounded people over the past 24 hours. It added that hundreds of victims remain trapped beneath rubble or in areas inaccessible to rescue teams.
Separately, Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces arrested 11 Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank on Monday. The operations were accompanied by tightened military measures and reported damage to private property in several towns and cities.
The latest incidents come amid continued Israeli strikes in Gaza and growing international concern over the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory.
