Washington, May. 30 (SANA)— The White House announced on Saturday that U.S. President Donald Trump had signed an executive order directing federal health agencies to incorporate a newly completed scientific review of childhood vaccines into government policymaking.

The order instructs the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to review the findings of a recent Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) assessment and to consider its conclusions when developing vaccine-related recommendations and guidance.

This is part of the administration’s wider initiative to re-evaluate and update public health policies on vaccination programs, based on the most recent scientific evaluations and evidence available to federal health authorities.

Federal agencies are expected to review existing childhood immunization recommendations in light of the new findings, with the aim of ensuring that public health policies remain aligned with current scientific standards and public health priorities.

The ACIP is the CDC’s main advisory body on vaccine use in the United States. Its recommendations play a key role in shaping federal vaccination policies and updating immunization schedules for both children and adults.
