Abu Dhabi, May 16 (SANA) UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call on Saturday with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the latest regional and international developments, according to the UAE state news agency WAM.

The two leaders exchanged views on several issues of mutual concern, including developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and global security, freedom of navigation, energy security, and the global economy.

Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and dialogue to support stability and ongoing efforts to address current challenges.

Putin expressed appreciation for the UAE’s role in mediating prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, praising its humanitarian significance and impact.

The call came one day after the UAE announced the completion of its 23rd mediation effort between the two countries, resulting in the exchange of 205 prisoners from each side.
