Beirut, April 19 (SANA) The Lebanese army said on Sunday it had dismantled five unexploded aerial bombs left over from Israeli strikes in the southern suburb of Haret Hreik.
A specialized unit was deployed to handle the ordnance, with three of the bombs transported for further examination, while efforts continue to relocate the remaining two.
The army urged residents to avoid the affected areas and report any suspicious objects to the nearest military facility.
The announcement follows a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement last week, which is set to last for 10 days starting at midnight on Thursday.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said Lebanon’s priorities in negotiations with Israel include securing a lasting ceasefire, ensuring the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern areas, securing the release of detainees, and addressing border disputes.
