Occupied Jerusalem, April 18 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces have continued to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip for the 191st consecutive day, while crossings remain closed and the blockade and military measures imposed on more than two million Palestinians persist.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli artillery shelled eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Saturday, while military vehicles opened fire toward the eastern and southern parts of the city.

In a related development, Israeli forces carried out artillery strikes targeting eastern areas of Gaza City, alongside heavy gunfire from military vehicles stationed near border areas.

Israeli vehicles also advanced near al-Sikka Street east of the al-Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City, while forces conducted demolitions of homes in eastern parts of the city.

The number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire began on October 10 has risen to 773, with 2,171 injured and 761 bodies recovered. The overall toll from Israel’s ongoing offensive since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,549 killed and 172,274 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
