Abu Dhabi, April 1 (SANA) Authorities in the emirate of Fujairah said Wednesday that one person was killed after debris from a drone, intercepted by air defense systems, fell in a farm area.
In a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Fujairah government media office said the incident occurred in the Al-Rifaa area earlier in the day, where falling fragments struck a Bangladeshi national, resulting in his death.
The statement said relevant authorities responded to the incident at the site following what it described as a successful interception of the drone.
A day earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems had intercepted multiple aerial threats, including eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 36 drones.
The developments come amid continued drone and missile activity affecting parts of the region in recent weeks.
