Occupied Jerusalem, March 31(SANA) Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed al-Yamahi on Tuesday condemned Israel’s approval of a law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners, describing the move as “a war crime and a crime against humanity,” according to a statement carried by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Al-Yamahi said the measure constitutes a violation of international laws and conventions, particularly the Geneva Conventions, which guarantee the protection of prisoners.
In the statement, he added that the legislation reflects a dangerous escalation in policies targeting the Palestinian people, and called on the international community, the UN Security Council and human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities and take deterrent measures to hold Israeli officials accountable.
