Geneva, Feb. 27 (SANA) Social Affairs and Labor Minister Hind Kabawat discussed with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis ways to support projects in Syria and overcome obstacles to their implementation, ahead of the fifth edition of the International Cooperation Forum focusing on challenges and the future of humanitarian aid.
During the meeting in Geneva on Friday, both sides stressed the vital role of the ministry in promoting projects that support peaceful coexistence, assisting the most vulnerable groups and providing job opportunities that preserve citizens’ dignity and contribute to social stability.
Kabawat also met with officials from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation including the Assistant Director-General and Head of the Europe and Middle East Division.
The meeting focused on the importance of building trust as a key entry point for strengthening peaceful coexistence and supporting projects that achieve sustainable impact, while stressing geographical fairness in distributing projects across regions in line with the ministry’s national action plan.
Earlier, Kabawat participated as a special guest in a high-level session organized by Interpeace and the International Gender Champions Network, attended by representatives of international organizations and ambassadors of permanent missions in Geneva from Belgium, Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom and Greece.
