Riyadh, Feb. 22 (SANA) – The Muslim World League strongly condemned remarks by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee concerning Israel’s regional expansion, describing them as reckless and devoid of political responsibility.
In a statement issued Sunday, the League said the remarks constitute a dangerous disregard for regional security and state sovereignty, amounting to a blatant violation of international law and established norms, and contradicting declared commitments contained in the U.S. peace framework.
The League stressed that lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through the enforcement of international legitimacy resolutions, particularly those affirming the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state. It underscored that such rights cannot be negated or diluted by irresponsible political statements.
Huckabee’s comments on Israel’s expansionist policies have triggered widespread condemnation across the Arab and Islamic worlds.
